Iparragirre studio
Full office renovation in Donostia, 20m2
In the heart of the Gros neighbourhood, between one of its busiest streets and Zurriola beach, is the new Bitarte studio. A comprehensive intervention is carried out with the complete demolition of ceilings and walls, to recover its entire volume.
Part of the energetic large-format Portuguese pink marble has been preserved, now readapted as a skirting board. Henceforth, the entire space is redesigned. Natural and ecological materials are chosen entirely, making this intervention a reform based on sustainable and ecological design; natural clay is applied to cover walls, natural lime mortar-cement that provides texture and regulates humidity, continuous linoleum and cocoa shell flooring and the use of solvent-free ecological paints that absorb CO2, improving air quality.
From an inspiration in the emotional architecture of Luis Barragan, influenced by the most vernacular character transmitted by the whitewashed walls of the Mediterranean and through brushstrokes of industrial robustness provided by the beams and the exposed concrete pillar, an eclectic style space is created that must be read through many layers.
We have created a space that defines the Bitarte philosophy: sustainable design for a space with its own personality that reflects the essence of the studio. A studio with its own defined character that is expressed through the space with vitality and that in turn provides serenity.
